When it comes to hemorrhoid banding, you can’t just get it done for any type of hemorrhoid, it only works under certain circumstances.  If the hemorrhoid is too small for instance, it will not work, also if it is too large, it will be resistant to the treatment.  It needs to be a good medium sized one for this to even be an option.

How The Surgery Is Done…

If you’re undergoing hemorrhoid banding, what happens is you’re made to lay on your side with your knees raised up as high as you can get them, then an instrument is used to open the anal cavity while the banding device is inserted.  Once inside, the surgeon searches for the hemorrhoid or cluster of hemorrhoids and when found it is clutched by the device.

Then What?

Once this is clutched, the elastic band is “fired” and clasps shut over the hemroids.  There is no pain involved, only the discomfort of having the device inserted in your rectum.  Once this is done, the device is removed and you’re free to go about your merry way.

What Happens Next?

After that, the rubber band will basically cut off the blood supply to the hemroid and strangle it.  It will then shrivel up and the body after about 5-7 days will just allow for it to pass through the system.  The inside will heal normally as any scar would.

Any Side Effects?

The only side effect is you may feel like you have to go to the bathroom after this.  This discomfort passes though after a few days.

Now hemorrhoid banding is quite a big step to take and most people would prefer to just handle the problem with less invasive methods.  There are other powerful treatments that can do the job, one of which is Venapro.  It’s gained a lot of popularity due to the fact that it treats existing hemroids and prevents future ones from occurring.  Click here to check it out for yourself.
