Need some hemorrhoid medicine to cure those bumps?  Well, there are several medications you can get in the stores to do the trick, some of them work, some of them don’t it’s a matter of trial and error.  It’s not that they suck or anything, it’s just that different things work for different people.  Here are some over the counter solutions you can have a go at:

1.     Preparation H

Everyone knows about this hemorrhoid medicine and there’s a reason why it’s so popular, it works for a majority of people.  Granted it’s a short term solution and doesn’t prevent further hemorrhoids, but it still does a decent job of getting rid of swelling, itching and bleeding.  Pick a tube up from your local drug mart.

2.     Tucks

While you’re there, you may also find a product called tucks.  These things are medicated wipes that you can use to cleanse your butt.  They have witch hazel on them witch is an herbal remedy found in a lot of these types of medications.  Some people even use this as an alternative to toilet paper!

3.     Witch Hazel

As mentioned before, this is a staple in hemorrhoid medication.  You can even pick it up on it’s own in a bottle at most drug marts or supplement stores.  If you want to go straight to the source, dab a cotton ball with it and apply that to the affected area for some relief.

Now aside from this hemorrhoid medicine, there are other solutions which work better at keeping the hemorrhoids from returning.  One such medication is Venapro.  It is both an ointment and stool softener that does a good job of clearing up the problem and keeping it away unlike other treatments.  Click on this link to learn more about it and see if it’s right for you.
